Every Day I Get Closer To The Light From Which I Came is a long-form sound and lighting experience, set out of time inside the black box of the Ralph Wilson Theatre. Nick has prepared a sound piece that forms the backbone of the event, and in an attempt to take leave of the ever-present requirement to perform music, Nick will suit himself up inside the bio box with lighting controls and take the audience on an emotive and vivid experience.

This is a free event, but bookings are required, book online here.

About the Artist

Nick is a Canberra native who worked hard to waste a private school education. He has since worked diligently in Canberra’s theatre scene throughout the 00’s, studied Sound Design and Production at the VCA and RMIT respectively, and in 2017 finds himself once more settling into the lush surrounds of the Canberran arts scene. Nick has previously appeared in bands such as Inflatable Ingrid and McClane, and currently downpicks bass strings firmly for The Missing Lincolns, and his own eclectic Future Conduits alias.

He’s worked for the You Are Here festival since its inception. His work for the festival this year is a firm attempt to take stock of his previous artistic practice, and move it forward by examining the facets of his process that worked and then experiment with them in a relaxed, playful space.
